Michael Moore has been challenged to withdraw part of the speech he made in the House of Commons during the Scottish Referendum Order debate. In the debate he claimed that the SNP had secured a mandate for a referendum on the Union. This could not have been the case as the 1998 Scotland Act explicitly prevents the Union from being a matter for mandate in a Scottish Parliament election.
